Xmodified™

The Thermo3™ modified wood offers maximum Durability Class 1 performance for Use Class 3A outdoor, above-ground applications such as Siding. However, it does not offer protection against termites and cannot be used for high moisture/water applications such as Use Class 4 in-ground contact (e.g. poles, sleepers) or Use Claas 5 Marine use (e.g. docks).

XModified™ is a unique and groundbreaking new technology developed by WTT, offering cost efficient industrial protection for heavy duty wood applications without any use of biocide chemicals. It is based on smart combinations of Thermo3™ thermal modification and other types of wood modification such as Furfurylation or Lignin modification. With simple low capital expenditure add-ons to a Thermo3™ system, it is possible to efficiently produce a full range of thermally modified and heavy duty Xmodified™ wood products.
